IF YOU ARE USING A BROADBAND OR CABLE DSL PROVIDER

The download and upload speeds of your browser connection are functions of your broiadband provider (Charter, AT&T, Earthlink, etc.) and may change with weather conditions, the particular broadband package you are subscribing to, the number of TSRs (terminate and stay resident) programs your computer is running (these are programs that are always running in the background when your computer is on such as your antivirus program, Windows update, etc) and the number of cookies that are enabled on your system.

It's a good idea to check your upload and download speeds periodically to see if you are getting the speeds you should be getting (and the speeds you're paying for.)

If your internet connection seems unusually slow or if you are experiencing timeouts or any other connection problems, click on the link below and check the download/upload speed of your connection. You can also compare these speeds with both the national and regional speeds that others are getting from your provider. If you're below the average, contact your internet provider and ask them to troubleshoot the problem. When you've finished checking and comparing, click on the X in the upper right corner of the window to close the connection and return here. YES, PLEASE CHECK MY BROWSER SPEED
